SMS Chat

Overview

An enhanced SMS-based chat service that enables a synchronous, text-based, chatting among mobile users. With SMS as the bearer it caters to the widest possible mobile user audience, second only to voice based solutions and services.

The service enables mobile subscribers to meet new people around common interests, make lots of new friends and chat with them in real time without ever having to reveal their mobile number.

It also provides an option to subscribers to sign in to popular online IM services - access their contacts and exchange messages with these contacts through SMS.

Technology

The application is powered by a highly robust and scalable mobile chat platform built progressively over the last 8 years. It can be adapted to multiple mobile networks, devices and connectivity protocols, allowing seamless communication.

ACL’s service delivery team ensures quick integration with the operator mobile networks within few weeks, post availability of SMS short code with four digit suffix (1234xxxx).

An STK menu may be pre-loaded on the SIM cards for easy registration and initiation into the service without the need to remember short codes or commands. A SIM browser based version is also available which provides an interactive, menu driven experience.
