DTAC launches SMS based Wireless Instant Messenger on its network

New Delhi, India, November 18, 2003: DTAC, Thailand's leading mobile service provider recently announced the launch of ACL's Wireless Instant Messenger (WIM) on its network targeting the youth community. With the service name 'myChatline', the application allows DTAC's mobile phone users to initiate instant chat with friends on PCs or mobile phones within the home network or anywhere in the world.

myChatline is based on ACL's latest offering on Wireless Instant Messaging solution. The service is currently available via SMS or PC. On SMS, it comes packed with popular features such as Global Search for new friends, add a friend with an email ID, access friends on Yahoo, MSN, ICQ messenger services. While a PC user can send SMS to any DTAC mobile number, free of cost!

Khun Rathachat Siripanich, DTAC's Product Management Group Director, "ACL's WIM is a matured, tested product and in uncertain terms, ACL has set international standards for wireless instant messaging application. It provides users a superior, easier and cheaper messaging service".

This service has witnessed significant consumer adoption with as much as 50 messages/user/month.
