GSM users can now access railway enquiry

New Delhi: All the 3m GSM mobile phone users will now be able to access railway enquiry services from their handsets. ACL-wireless has launched an SMS-based railway enquiry service called “Railzone”.

This service enables cell phone users to know the status of their PNR and ticket and train availability.

The subscribers have to send an SMS to 676747. Within a few minutes, all the information is available on his handset. Currently, there are about 30 lakh users per month for the official website of Indian Railways, said officials.

The company expects that initially, about one lakh subscribers will use its service every month.

ACL-Wireless is currently into providing real time wireless messaging based application services to mobile operators, service providers and enterprises.

There are currently more than 1m users of services provided by ACL-Wireless.

The wireless messaging suit (WMS) is specifically designed to boost the growing demand for hosted wireless messaging services by enterprises and content providers.
