WIM makes it possible

The future development of mobile telecommunication business need more new services other than the basic function ¨C Voice, this trends already become the common understanding of the whole mobile industry. A brand new value-added service called WIM (Wireless Instant Messaging) are well accepted and implemented successfully by some mobile operators in Asia Pacific region, it will become a very popular and successful mobile service in China market as its' massive GPRS network will develop extremely fast in the near future.

Mr. Sanjay Goyal (CEO of an India based WIM solution company) has his comments on the difference between traditional SMS service and WIM service: ¡°Real-time interactive and process¡± is the most significant difference, the traditional SMS service need a data processing in storage equipment in the operator end, WIM does not need such thing, it send and receive the data in REAL TIME! WIM technology can enables mobile users to chat and communicate in real time with friends on mobile phones or even PCs, and also can monitoring their status of online or off line, ¡° WIM technology can be considered as merging the ICQ concept base on PC to mobile telecommunication network¡±, said Sanjay Goyal, ¡° the ACL WIM solution are purely software products, and this means the operator have no extra investment on any hardware to launching the WIM services¡±.

WIM technology is currently deployed in 15 operators in 7 countries in Asia Pacific region. ¡° ACL WIM solution will be adopted by mobile users in 3~6 months in China market¡±, said Sanjay Goyal who is very optimistic about the future of this technology in China. ACL planned to setup the China Representative Office or company very soon to extend its footprint in this world biggest mobile telecommunication market.

Beyond serve for the operator and end users directly, ACL also are working with mobile and wireless equipment manufactures to enables WIM services inside the handsets. ¡°We are working with several handsets companies to make WIM as a standard build-in services, ACL WIM solution will covers both operator end plus end users' mobile phone, this technology will add significant value in the whole chain of mobile telecommunication industry ¡°, said Mr. Sanjay Goyal.
